Our Roots
In 2006, Brett Schklar was a hard working VP of marketing at an early-stage tech company in Denver, Colorado. The world of start-up tech companies is notoriously demanding. 80-hour work weeks, big goals and tiny budgets are the norm. While away on a business trip, Brett was knocked out of the rat race by a heart attack. While in recovery, he decided that it was time for a new plan and a new career.
While working in the marketing departments of B2B tech companies, Brett was always frustrated by the ad agencies from which he had to choose. The creative teams would drool over accounts like Pepsi, Red Bull and Adidas. But when it came to putting that same creative energy to work for B2B tech, the agencies could never seem to deliver on their promises. Brett decided to turn this frustration into opportunity, and create a marketing company comprised of A-list creative and strategic thinkers dedicated exclusively to the needs of B2B technology clients. Thus, MCG was born.
Our vision: To make B2B technology marketing sexy.
The Values that drive our success:
- Creativity
- Innovation
- Confidence
- Work/Life Balance
Creativity
Creativity is how we make B2B sexy, exciting and fun for our clients and their customers. MCG is unique from other marketing firms because every member of our staff is responsible for being creative and showing innovative thinking in their area of specialization and across all aspects of our business.
Innovation
We don't just reach into our tool box and pull out a prepackaged solution for our clients. We innovate cutting-edge, custom solutions for difficult problems. MCG knows that in the world of marketing, a truly new idea stands out.
Confidence
We believe in ourselves and are willing to take risks and support each other. We know that you have to take risks to come up with new ideas, and that new is rarely safe. That's why we give each other the confidence we need to take the risks our industry demands.
Work/Life Balance
We are a culture of tech-savvy early adopters who use technology to do our jobs better and to merge our careers with our personal interests and goals. Open-source cloud computing and tools like Skype allow us to stay together even when we are on the go. While we use technology to stay connected we also respect each individual's need for personal time. At MCG, the focus is on the quality of work, not when or where that work is done.
